San Antonio Tutoring

It's never too late to fulfill your desire to become a musician or even a rock star! After attending a couple years at Northwest Vista College where she studied with guitar teacher Dan Smith and performed in ensembles directed by Katchie Cartright, she transferred to Texas State University and graduated with a degree in guitar jazz studies.
For their unswerving passion and commitment to music education of San Antonio residents, we are very proud to award the first MBAW Lifetime Achievement in Music Education Award Music Lessons to Robin and Peggy Abraham, and are doubly proud to announce hereafter the award will be known as the Robin and Peggy Abraham Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music Education.

When the San Antonio music community speaks of its great teachers and performers, the conversation often turns to the unique talents of a woman who traveled the world to learn her craft, and brought it back to share with students young and old in her native San Antonio.
North Central Piano Academy of San Antonio will have a booth this year. The first time I took my son for a lesson, it was really obvious how well he connects to people and how he translates his passion for music into really outstanding instruction. When he is not teaching or performing, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

My son has been taking lessons from Phil for 2.5 years now, has become very talented, is the 1st chair in school band for drums, and has the desire and drive to practice (which he does all the time) and become better. Their students are eligible to participate in Piano Guild Auditions, Jr. Tuesday Musical Club, and the Youth Orchestra.
Once selected, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community and perform live shows at TX rock venues throughout the year. Our local keyboard instructors are all practicing musicians in San Antonio, and use popular rock songs as a way of teaching complex skills.

David's musical journey has included playing the bassoon for several all region bands, as well as in the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio, which included touring England. I am a local cello & voice teacher with 25+ years of experience teaching and performing in North America.
That's a lesson she's taught to more than 500 private students during her teaching career, including Robbie Elefante, who chuckled as he slyly played the intro to rapper Dr. Dre's song, Still Dre,” drawing cheers from his friends. Our students become intuitive sightreaders a majority of the time.
