Prior to joining Southwestern, Mr. Curry spent 26 years at Chevron Corporation and served in various leadership roles, including as a member of the Chevron Management Committee, President of Chevron Pipe Line Company, and President of Chevron Natural Gas.



His responsibilities included managing the day to day operations and P&L for the company's natural gas marketing and trading activities in North America, Canada and the UK. Prior to that, Mr. Curry held various management positions within Chevron's Global Gas and Midstream organizations.
The transactions are among the latest examples of surging private equity investments in the U.S. oil patch and in Houston, where investors have instructed their publicly traded rivals to focus on making returns and developing the fields they already own, giving private firms armed with billions in newly raised capital an opening to carve out a bigger piece of the oil industry.

Prior to joining Commonfund Capital, his experience includes positions at Deutsche Bank, evaluating third-party managers in the private capital funds division, as well as direct private capital investing with DB Capital Partners, Deutsche Bank's merchant banking subsidiary.
